The ArtEGs

The Art Education Graduate Student Association (ArtEGs) is a representative group of graduate students from the department of Art Education at Concordia University. Our mission is to bring together ideas about the practices in art creation and pedagogy by sharing student work, and to create a liaison between the Faculty of Art Education and the study body. We aim to foster the involvement of artist scholars in our community, and to provide opportunities to connect with diverse audiences through promoting critical dialogue and art creation.

The Æ: Graduate Journal of Art Education

The Æ: Graduate Journal of Art Education is an annual fine arts and research publication that exhibits a variety of artwork, written work, and research by graduate students and alumni from Concordia University’s Faculty of Fine Arts. We provide an overview of excellence and active reflection in writing and artwork from each school year, thus our selections for each issue will continuously vary.

This journal gives students the opportunity to have their work published and shared within the community and to have an online presence. The Æ: Graduate Journal of Art Education is curated by members of the Art Collective in the Art Education Graduate Student Association (ArtEGs).

Our mission is to bring together ideas about the practices in art creation and pedagogy through the presentation and dissemination of various works. We aim to foster the involvement of artist scholars in our community and to provide opportunities to connect with diverse audiences through promoting critical dialogue and art creation.

Originally a ligature in writing and typography,  here we reinterpret ‘Æ’  to symbolize the union of Art and Education as one discipline.
